Showcasing Innovation in Education: Our Participation in the "Spice Up Formal Education" Course

We are excited to share our participation in the “Spice Up Formal Education” staff training course, organized by Edu2Grow. The training brought together people who believe that formal education can and should be dynamic, engaging, and relevant to today’s world.

As part of this inspiring course, project coordinator Dr Vassilis Stamatopoulos, had the opportunity to present our ongoing work under the Future Integrity Leaders / Integrity is Cool initiative. His presentation highlighted how we blend creativity, educational strategy, and AI powered digital tools to empower young learners and educators alike.

Our project promotes integrity education through non-traditional, learner-centered tools designed to spark curiosity and critical thinking. Vassilis introduced three of our core educational resources:

• 🥔 Hot Potato – The Mobile Game

  A fast-paced game that challenges players to make ethical decisions under pressure. It’s an interactive way to explore real-life dilemmas around integrity in a gamified context.

• 📚 Our Comic Book

  A visual storytelling tool that brings relatable ethical challenges to life. Designed with young people in mind, the comic encourages reflection and discussion in and out of the classroom.

• 🧭 Cross-curricular Best Practices

  These are flexible, teacher-friendly resources that integrate themes of integrity across different subjects, making ethical thinking a core part of everyday learning.

  
  

A key element of the presentation was how Artificial Intelligence supports the creative and strategic processes behind these tools. From creating the tool itself to generating content ideas, refining educational scenarios and adapting resources for diverse contexts, AI helps us scale our vision and tailor our approach for greater impact.

This human-AI collaboration empowers our team to develop innovative, learner-responsive tools that remain deeply rooted in educational principles while pushing the boundaries of what's possible in formal learning environments.

Participating in “Spice Up Formal Education” reinforced our belief that innovation is not just about technology, it’s about rethinking the way we engage learners. We are proud to be part of a growing movement that champions creativity, ethical reflection, and active learning in formal education.
